Hey everyone, I read the post from Joyce about them giving her a diet coke to help with low blood sugar and I believe they are idiots. I thought I'd share something that might be use for blind diabetics that might not have this information. Years ago, I created a yahoogroup for blind diabetics. It now has several members and the traffic is not too high. the subscribe address is
blind-diabetics-subscribe at yahoogroups.com
I don't know who moderates the group now because I gave it up when I was working full time. I couldn't give time to the group that it deserved. The person I let moderate the group passed away last week, so not sure who the moderating it now. I had gastric bypass about eight years ago, so my diabetes is in remission. I still keep up with the group messages when I can. Subscribe to the group and you will get lots of good information.
As for myself, my shoulder is giving me trouble again, and I am having trouble with my legs cramping on me at night and sometimes when I walk. My potasium and other labs turned out good, so don't know what the problem is yet. I have a doctor's appointment in March and then I will have some other stuff checked out. Sorry to be off topic from crafting. I have created two baby blankets during the last part of last year, and now making lap blankets for people who are in hospital that I know. Everyone take care.

I am back, but will take a few days off. I went in for the surgery and my
blood sugar was too low, so they sent me home. I did get a bit excited as
the surgeon came in and said well we will just sweeten her up a bit. He
went out and the anesthiologist or whatever she is came back to say she
refuses to do it. I said start an IV and give me some glucose. She
refused. She wanted the nurse to get me something before I left. I had put
my jacket on and was about to walk out of the room and the nurse came
running in and handed me a small can. I took it and walked out and while
walking down the hall I asked my son what was it a can of? Hee told me diet
Coke. Now they are all idiots and I don't think I will go there for surgery
for anything. They all need a lesson in diabetes. I am sure I wasn't the
first diabetic that has walked in their door for surgery.
