I have been knitting and teaching it for years. I have a difficult time
teaching casting on to my vi students. I would like to take the course to
learn a new teaching method. Thanks for offering it.

Yes, yes, I want to learn beginner's needle knitting. I took the last email
needle knitting class and also have been trying based on destructions I find
on the net. I'm almost there but need some very elementary instructions to
cast on and knit in order to do it right. Have knitted in the past with
eyes and just know I can do it.

lost, but it is only a game, sad but true. You all better watch out making

I am enjoying the polital carring on and my phone is ringing off the hook
right now with SC polls, so funny. It is hard to believe it is so cold here
in SC this morning it was 10 but I know you all have it colder in other
places. Jill is the only one doing major crafting cause she want to be
Bertha Better than you. She is doing a good thing and making us all feel
bad. I am looking forward to messing up an entirely new group of crochet
students next week and awaiting the frustration, such a joy of teaching. We
are starting Lent so I am giving up complaints for the next 40 days. So you
all be quiet I personally am trying to stay warm and wait for Spring. Oh
Yea! Somebody shoot that stipud Groundhog!

Hi Everyone,
How many people are interested in a beginners needle knitting class or a
class on how to purl? I'm not sure that I have time to teach both at this
time, as I am only available to teach on Saturday afternoons. I would teach
either class via conference call.
The beginner's needle knitting class would take 2 sessions. In the first
session you would learn how to cast on and knit, and in the second session
you would learn how to bind off.
The needle knitting purl class would be only one session and you would need
to already know how to cast on, knit and bind off.
Your thoughts?

Yes, the list has been quiet, but I am still here! The Carolina Panthers
lost, but it is only a game, sad but true. You all better watch out making
fun of the next President Donald J. Trump, he will take all your money away.
I am enjoying the polital carring on and my phone is ringing off the hook
right now with SC polls, so funny. It is hard to believe it is so cold here
in SC this morning it was 10 but I know you all have it colder in other
places. Jill is the only one doing major crafting cause she want to be
Bertha Better than you. She is doing a good thing and making us all feel
bad. I am looking forward to messing up an entirely new group of crochet
students next week and awaiting the frustration, such a joy of teaching. We
are starting Lent so I am giving up complaints for the next 40 days. So you
all be quiet I personally am trying to stay warm and wait for Spring. Oh
Yea! Somebody shoot that stipud Groundhog!

holding the yarn or thread. 100 percent holds their material the same way
you do. Remember, sometimes it is difficult to change our habbits.

I just had to tell you, that I was over on the blog that I had gotten the
Ghost lollipop pattern that I taught prior to Halloween and they were giving
away a set of crochet hooks. In order to have a chance on them, you had to

I just had to tell you, that I was over on the blog that I had gotten the
Ghost lollipop pattern that I taught prior to Halloween and they were giving
away a set of crochet hooks. In order to have a chance on them, you had to

now here are my experiences. I really like this product. It is accurate
about 80% of the time. It identifies the color of something and says whether
that color is light or dark. It does have difficulty with patterned
material. For example, I have a blouse that is patterned black and white and
the rainbow says it is gray. The rainbow works best with little or no light
because it uses L E D, so does not need light. You simply press the little
window up against something, press a button, and it tells you what color it
is. I did have difficulty getting it to tell me what color a single bead
was. I was told by the folks who made the product that you can identify a
cluster of beads if you place them on a black background.
The rainbow works well with yarn and helped me identify the variety of
shades of browns oranges and golds of my husband's golden retriever.
The voice is easy to understand and the volume is a bit loud for me, but
that is better than being too soft. I love this product and keep it handy.

Hmm, according to the rainbow reader Nike is dark orange on the top of his
head running down his back. He has light brown, and dark beige on his sides
and dark and light beige on legs and paws. Hmm, I have heard that dogs are
color blind. Are you certain you have your colors correct?
Perhaps you should ask your mommy for a rainbow reader to find out what
colors you really are? <big smile>

I had to grab my current crochet project just to see how I held the hook.
For me it is a pencil. I tried the knife hold and it seemed to have a strain
on my wrist.
The difference is the pencil hold has the hook end coming out between thumb
and forefinger. The knife hold has the hook extending from under the thumb
toward the wrist. That is, if I understand what the holds really are.
So my question is how do people hold the working yarn? I couldn?t describe
what I do. It is such a comfortable habit that controls yarn tension.
Interested in what others do.

I use the knife hold with the crochet hook in my right hand, and my working
yarn is woven through the fingers of my left hand (over the top of my
pointer finger, under my middle finger, over the top of my ring finger and
it then hangs down between my ring finger and my pinky).
