[Nfb-krafters-korner] New Upcoming class

Kathryn,
I, as a teacher, prefer teaching to a phone class, to make certain they are understand things that are complexed. I can not get feedback from an email class. I always send written notes to students to follow up. I agree with you, this can be quite confusing, even to me. One of my suggestions is to do, what you do, re-trype out the pattern typing the word from the abbreviation. This helps me if confused. Then if I need help I ask. If you want a description on front and back post crochet, send me another email and I will reply to that. That is a stitch mainly used in afghans, but not much. You are on the way with knowing the stitches you do. I really do not want to teach for info anyone can read or get on the internet, because anyone can search and find basic info. I like to know the students taking my class are learning and getting what they are being taught. Nothing wrong with email classes but just not for me.
Terry K

Terry K,
I would be interested in this class in an email form.
I sometimes get baffled by the stars & bracketts. And it is not helpful that my screen reader ignores these symbols. I usually re-write the pattern to help identify these symbols. Perhaps there is another way to deal successfully with beyond easy patterns.
My other hick-up is front post and back post - no idea of where it is or what to do with it.
I am familiar with the basic stitches and have made many afghans in repeating patterns like ripple or shell. I would like to do sweaters or ponchos. Lion brand is doing a crochet along of a poncho. It is a free pattern and it sounds really cool. At this point, I’m still trying to make sense of the pattern. It would cost a fair bit for the material, so my understanding of the pattern should come first.
Sorry for babbling on.
Thanks,
Catherine
