You know what they say about practice, it may not always make perfect but it
certainly helps.

Good going and keep practicing.
The more even the loops are in size on your chain are, the nicer your edge
will look and feel. Also, loose loops are to be preferred to tight ones so
that when you get ready to crochet into the chain, you will be able to more
easily fit your hook into the chain.
And keep those fingers relaxed.
