Yes, Please do this a few time, cutting off each practice until you are
happy with what you have, then make the chain and leave it attached to the
ball or working yarn to learn the next new stitch. I can not say for sure
but three practice chain, maybe, then you might be happy with the fourth.
You will not get your tension correct the first couple of thimes, but it
does sound like you got it.

Terry, I have the foot of chain.  Not all of the stitches are the same size.
Should I just keep doing it over to try to get them even?

I am also so pleased you have gone this far. Sorry to hear about your
success and misstep on the single. You really do need to work on the chain
and get comfortable with that first, it is a building process. You need to
have about one foot of chain ready for class on Wednesday so do and redo
that until you have one you are ready to proceed with. But do not rush, you
are doing good.

Terry K, I can't get away with anything. :)

I had about a yard of chain and thought I'd be smart early this morning and
try a few single crochets. I made three that looked pretty good and then got
into trouble with the fourth. I was going to rip it all out but a friend
wants the chain to decorate something with. This is the one done with the S
hook.

I will keep practicing the chain; I'm definitely not where I need to be with
it yet.

Thanks so much for the class notes as well as the encouragement. I'm super
excited to have gotten this far.
