[Nfb-krafters-korner] classes & membership

Hi Greg,

I have the opposite perspective on the class list archive. I think it helps
people identify what they might want to learn next. I can clearly see how
it can be frustrating to want to learn something and there not be a class to
teach it. If a student is needing to learn something on a short timeline,
well we are not the only game around. I understand that there are many
reasons why we all do not have access to the same resources, but there is no
way that Krafters Korner can fulfill all needs for all members all of the
time. If we were a business then we would have an obligation to offer a
more consistent series of classes. But since our teachers are volunteers,
we can only utilize their talents when they are available. Basically, we
are neighbors helping neighbors. Do you get upset with your neighbor when
they make their famous dessert recipe and don't bring any over to your house
despite your being able to smell it cooking? So the list of past classes is
like the aroma of good food cooking at the house next door. If you have
been nice to that neighbor and gave them compliments the last time they gave
you some of that delicious dessert, then they might bring you some sooner
then you think.

Annette

That is exactly what it is. It is a list of classes that have been taught to

make somebody look good. In terms of being useful to a member, it is a total

waste of time. It's like going to the candy store and your Mother saying
we're gonna read all the signs. But, I left the money at home.

Hi Cathy,

Thanks for the info. I went to the archive page, and was interested in the
beginner crochet email course. But the page is just text, and the classes
aren't links. So, more directly, my question is are these archived email
classes available? I gather not. What is the point of the archive if the
classes aren't available? It seems to be just a history record of prior
classes and not something you can take as a class.

Jean

Hi Jean,

The list of past classes is always available on our website.

Go to:
http://www.krafterskorner.org/classes/archived/

to see a list of the classes that are currently available go to:
http://www.krafterskorner.org/classes/current/

if one of these classes interest you, click on the class to be taken to that
class's page where you can get more information and sign up.

if you are interested in a class that is not currently being offered,
express your interest on the list and if others are interested and we have
an instructor willing to teach the class, we can offer that class.
