If I take a class at Hadley, how would  Bookshair have proof to give me free membership.  How many classes do I have to take per year to keep up this free membership?

Are you on bookshare? A number of these books are free there. You can download and emboss your own copies of any book you like. they have a number of formats including .brf.
Membership on bookshare is $50, or free to any student, including those taking adult ed courses at Hadley.

As you say, many of these books are not written with blind folks in mind. I have the  loom book you mentioned and that is a good one.
