To all students who have signed up for the Braided Sailor's Bracelet class,
and to those procrastinators who are waiting until today to sign up.

Please gather your supplies prior to class. In order to learn this craft,
you will need to be doing it as I teach it. This is going to be one of
those things where it will make more sense if you have it in front of you as
I explain it. In the list of materials I've provided plenty of alternatives
if you do not have the exact items that I have recommended.

Since this class is so popular there will be a lot of us on the call, plus I
guarantee you will be using both of your hands. You should give some
thought to the following to ensure a positive learning experience for
yourself and the others in the class:

. having a solid work surface near your phone.

. Having a hands-free option for your phone. This could be the
speaker phone option or a telephone headset. Personally, I find that I can
cradle my handset between my shoulder and ear and still work.

. No matter how quiet it is where you are calling from, please know
how to mute your phone. You have 2 options. Our conference call system
will allow you to use *6 to turn mute on and off. The * is to the left of
the 0 on your phone's number keypad. The second option is to use the mute
feature offered on your phone. This is different on each phone. I prefer
to use the one available on my phone handset as I just need to press 1
easily located button. If everyone except the instructor is muted, the
audio quality of the call will be maximized.

You will have a great sense of accomplishment once you master this basic
Turks Head Knot used for this project. I am looking forward to seeing you
in class.

Annette
