Cathy, agree with Dottie, wow, girl proud of you, smile.

I was part of a quilting lap robe group of senior citizens, even before I
was a senior citizen myself. Oh I loved these gals and worked with them
every Tuesday. Someone made a lap robe that was too big. I asked if I could
take it for my friend Jim in a nursing home. They agreed, and oh Jim was so
pleased to receive the blanket. He showed me how he prayed. He covered his
head and made a prayer closet. Then prayed for me and for people at my
college. Cathy it was so precious so moving as it truly flowed from a
personal love relationship. He knew God and talked to Him like he was
talking to his best friend.

Rest Jim in peace and safety. See you soon dear brother. Amen.

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] loom knit prayer shawl finally completed

Hello all,

I am so excited and proud to let my friends on KK know that after a year of
looming, I have finally completed a five-foot prayer shawl for my daughter.
it turned out beautifully. I used a long variegated colored homespun yarn in
shades of blue, red and gold. I used the ½ gauge Cindwood loom for the
project and knit in the trinity stitch pattern. The pattern of three knit, 3
purl, is a representation of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I got the pattern
from a needle knit prayer shawl class taught by Dixie last year.

My daughter is just so excited that her shawl is finally ready for her to
wear. Although it is actually too hot to wear a shawl right now, she will
use it in her air-conditioned apartment in a special place she has set aside
to pray.

I hope to soon have a picture of my daughter wearing the shawl to place on
our website to help promote our division. It will help demonstrate to all
that blind folks can and do make beautifully hand-crafted items.

Now on to my next project.
