[Nfb-krafters-korner] To all members

Henry, the national board only reviews constitutional amendments unless
somebody asks for something else to be reviewed. It could review
expulsions, but we haven't had any of those, and I hope we won't.

Hi Ramona;
I agree with your points. But, I have noticed how in the past that members
have made valid recommendations to the board and their suggestions have
seemed to have fallen on deaf ears.
One question that I have right now, and I realize that it may not be able to
be answered at this time, is if we made any recommendations to the board,
would they have to be reviewed by the National board?
It seems clear to me that the National board doesn't want to even hear us at
this point in time.
Thank you for your time.

I am not criticising any person. However, I have only read concerns from a
few. I am glad to look at some changes, but it is not practical until after
convention. Many of us have more to do in the next two weeks than we can
possibly do. Perhaps we should have a committee or two draw up proposals
for some changes and then take them to a conference call. I think we have
to separate the management of the classes from the elections. To me they
seem totally separate topics.

Please don't let this list become a complaining forum. That will drive
people away faster than anything I can think of. So far I have noticed
three topics: 1. dues. 2. classes. 3. elections and constitution.
There may be others, but my suggestion would be that people who want to work
on changes should let Joyce know which concerns are yours. If you are
willing to help to make changes, say so. She can appoint any committees she
or the board wants created.

Clearly, there is some discontent. I have also notice that some people are
not participating in anything lately. That may be because they don't want
change. Or it could be because they don't want controversy. So please
let's try to keep this positive. Questions can and should be answered.
Recommendations can and should be made. Then, please give the leadership an
opportunity to work on it. But let's also move ahead with our usual
activities.

Thank you.
Ramona

What is wrong with submitting a proposal to get a date & phone number for a
class & then the instructor be responsible for promoting their class? What
is the purpose of the class sign-up process?

Folks, some of us have to give a little. There are some crafting groups who
are being run very successfully without class sign ups.

There are ways that the process can be handled in a more efficient way. As
some have stated, just because we've always done it this way doesn't mean
that things don't need to be tweaked every now & then. With new members
comes new & fresh ideas
