[Nfb-krafters-korner] Hexagon and Square hot pad looms

I made them years ago.  Five layers of yarn is strung across the frame.
Using a piece of yarn, tie a knot where the yarn crosses; this makes a
flower.  If you want specific instructions call me.

Does anyone know how to make the hexagon placemats and square hot pads on
the looms?
 
I have some I picked up years ago at a church fair and would love to make
some new ones.
 
They are layers of different colors of yarn in a grid and there are loops
around the outside edge.
