[Nfb-krafters-korner] OT, but need to be creative

Hi Joyce;
When you're not using these items, (head phones, phone chargers etcetera )
could you put them in a box and in the closet with the door shut?
We sure don't want anything to happen to that sweet little pup.
Also, if you leave the power strip on, and the chargers and such plugged in
to it, they are still drawing some electricity (though not very much. )And
that will increase your electric bill.
My Dad worked for General Electric, and his best friend was an electrician,
and told me this a long time ago.
Hth.

Joyce,

Be careful with enclosing the power strip or the transformer/box portion of
a charging cord. There could be a danger of fire as some of these things
get hot.

The thing to do is teach that precious pup to not touch these things. If
pulling things down is a favorite past-time, consider doing the following.

Insert approximately 10 small stones in a soda can or other metal container.
Pennies can work as well.

Cover the opening with tape or a combination of paper and tape. Just make
sure the covering is secure.

Attach an attractive cord or strands of yarn to the can. You want them to
be long enough to hang down off of the counter or dresser to a level where
the cute puppy can reach them.
Place the can on top of the counter a few inches back from the edge. Let
the cord or strands of yarn hang over the edge where the puppy can see them.

When she pulls on the cord /yarn, it will cause the can to fall to the floor
and make a lot of noise.

HTH,
Annette

Joyce,

Would it work to first take each cord and bundle it into a bundle of the
length you need and use a twist tie or some wire zip ties. Then, make a
decorative plastic canvas box or even a shoe box turned upside down over the
wires so they are out of site of rambunctious puppy? If plastic canvas, you
could even cut out little cutouts for the wires from the power strip to go
through and could even just stitch the pieces together and not the panels
which would let more air in to keep it all cooler. You could check with your
Lowe's or such store. But, it sounds like just making all of that less
interesting might help. I hope this sparks some creativity.

I do get a bit disappointed that people don't think of putting into words
instead of just taking a picture...

I need to figure out how to solve a problem I have. On my dresser I have an
electrical strip plug board. Right next to it I have a bunch of wires in a
mass mess for IPhones, wireless ear phones, regular ear buds, charger for
note taker, etc. Now to tell you a little more, I have a puppy that is 9
months old Lab/Golden that jumps up and drags down head phones, sandles,
yarn balls, etc.

I would love to get some ideas how to organize these wires and head phones
and get them off the bureau I do have a mirror with tiny shelves on the
side, so maybe I could screw something in the back. I have no room in the
draws..

Does anyone know if they have made any devises to help organize something
like this???

Joyce
