For counter surfers, the coins in the can thrown hopefully startling the dog
works and you don't have to repeat and repeat for months. Usually two three
or for stubborn dogs four times and they get it that the kitchen counter
surfing is not the best way to get rewarded. 

Then redirecting them to something positive is a great way to train.

JMO.
Becky and Jake, whose paw brother used to be a counter dresser surfer, but
learned as that can came out of nowhere.

I didn't take offense to your not accepting my squirtbottle suggestion.
What works for my Ranger may not work for your Jake or Henry's Sophie. Just
as we are all at different stages in our blindness & crafting, so are we in
our dog trading techniques.

I feel that this should be a place where we can come seeking suggestions
with an issue & we know we will receive many different responses. I feel we
should read & use the suggestions that we think will work in our
situations.?  If we were all alike, then we wouldn't need KK. I don't know
about all of y'all, but I'm soooooooooo glad that all are not like Jill &
me!
