You get that frying pan out and fry up some bacon [plenty as you won't be
able to eat just one..

Now these have to be the summer fresh tomatoes and slice them like between
1/4 and 1/2"  thick and fry them up in the bacon greese.  Go out and get
yourself a loaf of Italian or fresh baked bread from the bakery and butter
up the bread and eat those fried tomatoes & bacon and clean up all of the
tomatoes with the bread.

I haven't had that in a couple of years now.  The man next door tous had his
whole back yard as a garden and John would plant tomatoes in buckets that
hehung off the back porch.

Nella, I have to disagree with you about your statement saying there is
nothing better than a tomato right off the vine. A sandwich with some mayo &
a sliced homegrown tomato is the best! If you want to make the best even
better, slap a piece of ham on that mater sammich. **grins**
