[Nfb-krafters-korner] Realistic object drawings.

I took one course of pottery and loved it. I didn't follow up because of
the requirement to bake everything in the kiln, and there are not so many
around. Also, it is a dirty activity, and I didn't really have a place to
do it. But maybe some day I will get back to it.

Pottery is what first got me interested in art in general. I went from there
to wanting to learn how to draw and learn the visual concepts of two
dimensional design. I want to sort of break the rules once I know them all,
and redefine an engaging picture for a blind person. Sighted people focus a
lot on elements in artwork that move the eye and make engaging connections.
Sometimes I like a certain design I've made, but sighted people just
completely dismiss it because it doesn't make sense to the eye. That made it
hard when I had project rules and guidelines to follow. For example, making
an engaging picture out of my fingerprint was extremely confusing because I
had to make my own pattern from the lines of my fingerprint, and they had to
connect well and look as if they were always that way, not pasted on in a
way that made it look "tacky". And the most annoying thing about it was that
they either had a hard time, or just plain wouldn't explain why it wasn't
visually acceptable. Unfortunately, my grade was in the balance, so I had to
conform to the rules.
Ramona, I wish you the best in your endeavor to learn how to make designs
and pottery. I find it to be loads of fun, and strangely relaxing. :-)
