Sophie is sort of like that!
She knows when it is time for her Mommy to come home.  I think she listens for the Metro Access van to pull up and then she comes to greet me at the door!
I love to play ball with her, in the apartment.  I have to use my walker to walk with Henry and 4 paw drive, when we take walks together.  She always likes to take the lead.  It is hard for me to take the lead, when I am trying to teach Henry a new path.
I call Sophie our challenger dog, because she makes me  walk around her or step over her.  I sure am glad she is black!  I wonder if she understands that I can not see well, too.
I can handle her on leash with or with out my walker, until my sister pulls up.  Then she goes crazy.  She wants to go and visit my sister's dog.  She seams to understand me using the walker, because her previous mommy used a wheel chair.  
I love my baby, even though she is afraid of thunder!

Henry:

No, Hank is a mixed breed that I adopted from the humane society.  He weighs about 40 pounds and has very short hair.  His markings are something like a Collie.  He has a docked tail and ears that stand up part way and then flop over.  Everyone seems to think he is some type of terrier mix.  He has a lot of energy and personality.  He can be very stubborn, was hard to train, but he is very sweet.  He loves everyone except squirrels and any other critter that doesn't belong here.  Hank is very athletic, can jump very high and will even try climbing trees when after a squirrel. lol

He can be grumpy with other dogs.  I have a pet GSD that he is friends with.
He is also weird with cats; I have house cats that he likes, but a stray cat better not get in the yard.  He is very observant and watches everything.
He lets me know when something isn't right around here.

Besides me my Dad is his favorite person in the world.  Dad lets Hank squish into the recliner with him.  It is pretty funny.  Hank knows the sound of Dad's truck and goes nuts as soon as Dad pulls in the the drive.  He is almost uncontrollable until Dad gets in the door and says hi to him.

Hank is a special dog and it takes a special person to love him. Lol

Oh, and Hank says to tell you he is top dog!

They are quite cute; I have to families of red squirrels living in the yard.

They love to torment my poor dog Hank.  He thinks he's supposed to be a
squirrel dog and spends his life dashing around after them.  They get real
close to him, taunting him and then dash up a tree.  Hank is one frustrated
pup!

When my x was still around, he used to fead the squerls and they would come
right to the patio door.  Once, one got in the apartment and we did not know
it and he ate up all our house plants.  It was not easy to get him out.
They like to hide!
We sure were lucky we were not bitten!
