Thanks, I know how to do a color border, but this other technique is
specifically meant for making a picture. I'll see if anybody else has any
ideas as well as trying to contact craft shops. Most of them have classes,
and somebody must know how do this thing.

Thanks again,

P.S. not a big thing, but my name begins with a b not a d. So it is
Bernice.

Subject: Re: [Nfb-krafters-korner] technique question

Hi Denise,
As it happens I was looking into color techniques this weekend. I know very
little at this point, except that while it may be relatively easy to change
colors at the end of a row, it seems changing colors in the middle of a row
is much more difficult.

I gather that for some techniques you might carry the yarn at the back of
your work, but I also read about double stitching, or a similar term, where,
it seems you knit and then knit a motif over the background?
I've also read that you could sew on a knitted motif over the knitted
background.
Mmmm, I'm sure others might have some more ideas for you.
I'm thinking that doing a colored border might be something to try as a
beginner project?
Best.
Lindy

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] technique question

Hi group,The motivating reason I contact this list was to see if anybody
knew how to color work intarsia. So, I am finally getting around to see if
anybody knows this technique. It is a method of changing color while
knitting to make a picture. I have started calling craft stores locally to
see if someone knows how to do it and would be willing to teach me. It is
proving very frustrating. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, thanks for the info on dish cloths. I plan to go soon and get the
cotton yarn to give it a try. I have two surgeries coming up, so I hope I
feel well enough to work on crafts.

Bernice and the sweet Octane.
