For some bordering, I like just simple single-crochet, or reverse-single-crochet. The rev. SC is great for a nice finishing, and the regular SC is great as a “preamble” to a more-finished edging to an assembled afghan. If I were doing the latter, my favorite border to finish an assembled afghan is: after sc all around it, do sc, hdc, dc, hdc and sc within a st, sk 2-3 sts, and rep, sk 2-3 sts, etc;
