[Nfb-krafters-korner] needle vs machine knitting

Bernice, I just made a hat while listening to the Steelers Eagles, and the
Sea Hawks Forty whiners games. Another word my hands were going from the
loom to the volume controls of the games. So probably if not preoccupied in
that three hour time, I could get one and a half hats done, I would
estimate. Hey no ripping or mistakes. You do have to tap the yarn to make
sure the tension is lose. By tapping I mean wrap then put your thumb on the
front to hold the wrap and take the yarn up an inch so you have enough slack
to gently lay it around the peg. This is a very effortless technique and
gives beautiful results, gentle smile. So Dawni try again but lift the yarn
up to preserve the elasticity of the yarn. My guess you are a tight knitter.
A knitted piece should gently hug the head, in my case, not lay there like a
board. Scarves should be fluid almost buttery in your hands. So lay the
yarn slack on your lap and that should also loosen the tention on the loom
or needles. You feel the slightest tension on the yarn, stop and put the
loose yarn on your lap draping your lap.

Hugs to our most loved Bernice and our Dawni,

Becky and Jake

Thanks, I just wondered what I might be missing.

Hi, Bernice and Octane.
Peg sends tail wags, and you're in our thoughts and prayers, too.

I can't loom knit to save my life. My tension is always too tight, and I've
been known to break pegs because of the tightness of it. Loom knitting is
faster than needle knitting, but I like the feel of the yarn and knitting
needles in my hands. If I made a mistake on a loom knitted piece, I wouldn't
even know where to begin to take it apart, or put it back on the loom.

More Later,
Dani
