Joyce, I think color is a very personal choice thing.  My kitchen is red and
yellow.  My daughter helped me choose itl.  My son does not like it.  My
living room is blue.  Many people comment and like it, but some think living
rooms should be offwhite only.  But the great thing about place mats and
table cloths is that they can make short term changes in a room for seasons
or special occasions.  I would love what you describe!

Ramona,

I was hoping for the folks around here to be more specific with colors.  The
placemats will be made out of fabric and there will be embroidery on the mat
& napkins [if I do napkins].

It has been 20 years since I bought things for a table and I don't have any
idea on what colors are "IN" for kitchens or dining areas.

So wondering what colors to pick up for a try.

I am going to get Navy and add some stars, fireworks for Memorial/July 4 and
orange & black for Halloween.

How much I would pay depends on what it is made of and how badly I want it.
Colors can vary with the occasion and the season, but also the colors of the
rooms where they are used.  My daughter likes to change colors of her large
table in her dining room with different table cloths.  Place mats don't
change it quite as much, but some.  They tell me that an orange place mat
under a pumpkin makes both look brighter, etc. I know that sighted people
react more to color than to texture and style, but I want to enjoy the
texxture and style.  texture adds more to solid colors than to prints.  Just
some observations that might be relevant.

I need your input on this please.  For those of you, who are decorative
minded for your home...

What color placemats would you use in your kitchen?  What would you use in
your dining  room?

Would you use holiday colors  for Holiday times?  Example red, white &
blue-Memorial Day & July 4, fall colors in the Fall, Halloween colors  and
Red and//or green for Christmas?  Would you use these type only in the
kitchen?

Has anyone purchased placemats lately?  How much did you or would you pay
for 4 of them?
