Ah, yes, those barnyard scents.  Where we lived in Miami (yes Miami but in 
the county) there was a pig farm about half a mile northeast from our house 
and when the wind blew from the northeast, which wasn't very often, their 
smell was very strong.  Made me forget I was living in the city.

When we moved to the next county north, Broward, we had to pass a cow 
pasture to get home.  We usually passed after their dinner time.  Oh, boy, 
the smell of wet manure was so stron.  Thank you for bringing back those 
memories.  Love it. *smile*

Oh, not nice to throw rotten tomatoes.  Could have gone in the compost. 
*smile*  Good chuckles for a Saturday.

I love the smell of horses.
I love to stick my nose under Cruiser's mane
because that is where he smells most horsey.
I also put my nose right on
his nose, which
he seems to like.

like the scents of horse farms, and you're right about
the scents
being stronger after it
rained.
When I came home after volunteering
with our Church group at a theraputuc
riding
stable last year, Terry wouldn't even let me near her
until I got
cleaned up and change my
clothes, lol.

Ramona there is a commercial
chicken farm about a half mile from my home and
when the wind is blowing from the wrong
direction I can smell it.  It too is
worse
after it rains.

I never
smelled it when I looked at the property and I looked 3
times before
putting in an offer.

When I was a kid, my grandparents had a hog lot
not too far ffrom their
built-in porch.
When the windows were open, there was quite a bit of
fragrance.  They said it smelled good and
helped pay the bills.  I never got
to agree
with them on that. The smell was strongest after it rained,
pretty
rank!
