Class Description: 

Macrame is a craft that uses cords to tie decorative knots. 

I have never offered this macramé project before. This class will teach you
how to make a belt using two types of square knots using two contrasting
colors.  What is unique about this belt design is that two sets of working
cords are used to alternate the colors.

This is a great beginner's project, since only two decorative knots are used
for the entire belt design. The Square knot is featured, and this Macrame
project will teach you how to tie them in both directions.

 

Skills needed none, simply the wish to learn macramé.

 

Supplies Needed: 

For a belt between 35 and 40 inches long

·       15 yards 4mm polypropylene macramé cord color A (a light color)

·       15 yards 4mm polypropylene macramé cord color B (dark color)

·       (Note this will make a 1-inch wide belt. To make a wider belt
purchase 6MM cord instead.)

•         Project Board and pins 

•         Fabric Glue that dries clear

•         Tape Measure

·        Scissors
