[Nfb-krafters-korner] A Sunday Question

Terry K,

I do use a drawer or 2 in a dresser for storing some things, but I prefer to
store yarn, projects supplies, tools, etc. in bins and baskets on shelves
and in cabinets. This allows me to remove a bin/basket and take it to a
table, counter or desk to sort through to find what I need.

I also find that the plastic bags with snaps or zippers that sheets,
quilts/blankets, etc. come in are great for storing yarn, finished projects
and UFO's. You do need to be careful when using anything with a zipper.

Annette

This is good. I am getting an overall suggestion of a dresser from most
people and really makes you think about this.

Hello all,

I will describe how I organize my craft supplies.

First, I will say that I am usually working on two to four craft projects at
a time. I have a bag with handles for each project containing the basic
supplies for that craft, needles, hooks, stitch markers and yarn.
I have a small sewing box, wear I keep supplies I might use often such as
scissors, needle protectors, more stitch markers, and a measuring tape.

I am very fortunate to have an extra dresser in my den and I use it for
supplies I do not presently need or that I don't use regularly. Looms, loom
tools, beads, cording, wire, latch hook and canvas, my cotton yarn and other
such items.

In my closet, I have a large plastic storage container with all my acrylic
yarn. Yarn is in a zip lock bag and is labeled in braille. I always have to
sit on the floor and sort through this container to find yarn for a new
project. (Since I am making many dishcloths in classes, I keep the cotton
yarn separate.)

This is simply my way, and of course, different strategies work for
different folks and of course, the room one has in their home will affect
how many supplies one can keep. Mm, money as well.

Hope this helps.

Have a great day!!
Cathy F
