[Nfb-krafters-korner] dropped stitches, I'm crying now!! need advice!

Cathy,

Now that you chased the knitting gremlins away from your house, they have
landed at mine.  I am working with size 2 double pointed needles with 2
strands of yarn to produce a dense fabric.  I put point protectors on both
ends of each needle so that I do not unknowingly drop stitches off of the
ends.  Last night my sleeve caught the protector of the needle I just
finished working with.  A second later 9 of 13 stitches were on their own.
I tried to catch them, but they were running away faster than I could catch
them.  I decided to just pull out those stitches to a point where they were
all on the same row.  4 rows down I think I am ready to rework those
stitches when I find out that during my unraveling of that section, 6 of 13
stitches had jumped off over the point protector on the needle to the left.
I had not considered that those stitches would become lose because of the
lose yarn from the unraveled section.  So when it was all said and done, I
ended up ripping out 7 rows of 26 stitches.  This allowed me to get to a
place in the pattern that I could recognize.  2 rows are now reworked and 5
more to go.  

So, beware, now that the gremlins have left my house, they may be coming to
yours!
