Looks like I need to look at her list of books and get my hands on that book!
What letters do you want to start, with?

I will try a sample and see how it goes.
Only thing, I have a book of charted letters in braille that I purchased from Marjorie Arnott but I am not sure that will work the same way.

My idea is to form the letter with purl stitches and the background and body of the hat with e-wrap, u-wrap or flat knit stitches.

Try a simple letter like a T or H and see if you can recognize it!
