Lets take H for Henry.
H would be p k k p
P k k p
P 4 times
Repeat rows 1 and 2.
If you just put the H on the hat, all the rest of the 5 rows would be e-wrap.

I would do a ribbing to start the hat or k a row and p a row for about 10 rows, so it will not role.

2  to 4 rows of e-wrap then form your letter then finish your hat, as usual.
The H will be surrounded by the flat knitting of the e-wrap.

I need some help with figuring out how to loom letters on hats. I found something but it is a picture that does not help me much.
