I am listening to a series of children books as the middle Princess wanted
me to get her these books.  The series is "Seekers by Erin Hunter.  She is
11 years old and there are 6 books in this series.  She read the first one
so I ordered up the other 5 books.  I am near the end of the 4th one and
basically it is a  of 5 bears all young and how they met up together and
traveled to find a place they could live.  There are 2 white polar bears, 2
brown bears and the youngest is a black bear.  The wilderness is shrinking
due to humans getting oil out of the ground.

The Misty books are by Marguerite Henry and she has several other horse
books for kids.

I read the Black Stallion books, but even as a kid I thought they were very
unrealistic.

I read any horse book I could get my hands on and I can't remember the name
of most of them.  A lot of them were about how to care for a horse and how
to ride.  I wasn't able to have an actual horse until I was 35but I spent
years learning about them. Lol

I still read all the horse books I can find in accessible formats.

I love the horse stories, too. I have read them always. I really liked the
"Black Stallion" by Walter Farley books. I've had the kids read some books
by, I think, Terry Farley, who I think is his daughter. I did not like those
as well. Then there is the horse, Misty series. What horse books have you
read?

My Friend Flicka is another children's book that I want to read.  I read all
the horse books when I was a little girl and am still reading them. Lol

My favorite book as a child was "My Friend Flicka" by Mary O'Hara. I've read
it many times in Braille and recorded formats. I've even purchased the print
book for my children. We've seen the movie, too, but it was a disappointment
to me. There are so many good books but when choosing just one this is it!

Well, I didn't, just a lot going on today and it is too hot to think. Lol

A few weeks ago I read a couple of books by Marguerite Henry, who is a
children's book author.  I loved all of her books when I was a little girl;
she writes about horses and I thought it would be fun to read some of them
again.  Any way this got me thinking about other books that I read and loved
as a child and I've been rereading some of them.

So what books did you all read and love as a child?

Do you have a favorite one?

Have you read any of them as an adult?

I look forward to reading your replies and learning what kind of children we
all were.
