For a good while, until the pharmacy got to know me, I would call in and say

Terry Powers on the script talk program.

I had a funny insident.
When I was getting my first eye surgery, the lady putting in the prescription for my eye drops, could not understand why I did not want to use my local pharmacy.  I told her about how they label them and she came back at me,
You can label them yourself!

I put up an argument and let her know a blind person can not label their own meds and 
You do not want me using the wrong drops, do you!

The second surgery, I had a different lady and I told her the story and she was shocked!
It was the same office, too!

I had a hectic time getting on the program, here in MD, because my insurance would not work with the mail order at Walmart.
I sure wish this device had been created sooner.  I was once given the wrong dosage of my epelepsi medicine.  I noticed the pills felt strange and spoke up.  The wrong doce had been called in!
Some times you can not depend on the shape of a pill, either.  They change the shape of my colesteral pill, once in a while.

I just saw this post.  Sorry I missed the call Monday night; I fell asleep.  I use the Script Talk and it is from Envision America (not sure if that's the correct spelling.)  They're the same ones who produce/sell the ID. Mates bar code readers.  It's given out free to those who get their prescriptions from places that offer the stick on disks that the Script Talk reads.  Not sure of all the vendors, but Envision America would know them.  I don't have their number on hand.  Sorry.  It works good if the pharmacy remembers to put the little stick on piece on the bottom of the bottle.  The first 2 times I had prescriptions filled, they forgot.  The reader is good.  It reads the main information, but they give you a phone number to call with a code in order to know about side effects and other information about the medication.  

Don't know of any place that has all the information about products.  There are so many out there now and technology is constantly changing that it is hard to keep up with it.

 It gets quite frustrating when
 you work for hours trying to get help with Assistant  Technology and would like to know if anyone out there might  have suggestions. I have heard others ask, like Nella what  is out there for low vision and blind. If you do not have an  open case where do you go to search for help. I would like  to compile places and things where you can find solutions.
 Does anyone know of any place like this? I spent 4 hours  this morning looking for a drop store that supplies the  label reader and found none. Walmart wants me to purchase it  for $125. But not certain how that works. Is there  Assistance Teck lists out there. Anyone know of people who  have created their own referral businesses like this? I am  tired of spending so many hours and find my answers only to  know there are others out there doing the same thing.
