Thanks to all who offered suggestions on my yarn issue.  I believe reducing
the number of stitches is going to be the solution. I purchased several
braille patterns a few weeks ago and have been disappointed with the three I
have used.  A baby sweater was too large, a blanket is too large, but, will
work and of course the booties are not satisfactory.  I did crochet a gauge
swatch on all except the booties.  That is the reason I thought my choice of
yarn was incorrect.  The booties are only 16 rows so I can finish them
quickly.  Thanks again for your help.
