Yes, you can purchase hard acrylic cutting squares.  Amazon sells them as do most craft stores.  Here is the information from Amazon:

 Dritz R641 Omnigrid Ruler Set, Squares

You can then  use a rotary wheel to cut around the templates

First I want to say I'm really not a crafter, but someday I'll take a class.
I do rehab teaching though, and I have a client who is still quilting, but is having trouble cutting out squares. Is there any type of guide for this, and is there a guide to help a person sew straight on a sewing machine? If so, where do you get either of these items? Any help I get would be appreciated.
