Hi,

I agree with you Cathy.  Seeing color is what I miss the most.  Although I
am conservative with the colors I wear, I do like surrounding myself with a
wide range of colors.  My husband would like to paint every room in our
house a shade of white called ecru.  I like to spend time in a room and let
it tell me what color it wants to be.  I sort of still see things in color
in my mind, but I find that is now starting to fade.  I have a friend who is
very good at describing colors to me based on the shades and colors that are
mixed to make that particular color.  She might say that something is green,
but with more of a yellow than a blue.  If you grasp how the colors on a
color wheel blend from one to the next, this type of description could make
sense.  Depending on the placement of the color on the wheel will tell you
whether 2 colors are complimentary or contrasting.

Here are my answers to the color quiz.

blue, Azure
red, Magenta
green, olive, Chartreuse
yellow, Goldenrod, canary
brown, Taupe, buff
purple, Orchid

I do not know what color Heliotrope, Cerulean and vermilion are.

When I hear the word "Chartreuse" I picture in my head a blueish purple.  I
have to remind myself that it is green.

I have always loved and been fascinated by color. Thinking back on how I
gradually lost all of my sight, I believe that losing my color perception
was more difficult for me to handle than was losing my light perception.


So anyhow, here are my answers to the colors.




Taupe, brown

Orchid, purple

Chartreuse, green

Goldenrod, yellow

Magenta, red

Azure, blue

Olive, green

canary, yellow

buff, brown

heliotrope, purple

cerulean, blue

vermilion, red
