Nella, my Grandpa C was also a cabinet maker and upholsterer by trade. He 
apprenticed in a casket makers shop after coming here from England. ( That 
was back in the day of wooden coffins. )
He also taught me about wood working. Dad taught me all about cars and 
motorcycle engines, I feel that cars and motorcycle repairing are a craft 
too.
I would say that I was truly blessed to have these people in my life.

Henry I would consider writing to be a craft.  How nice that you had all
those people around you doing different things.

My Grandpa was quite handy with tools and such and I sure wish I had asked
him to teach me.  He was very patient with my little girl endless questions.
He loved me and I worshiped him.  If he had taught me to repair things and
use tools then I wouldn't be such a girly girl about those kind of things.

Hi Nella, ah, an easy no brainer question for a nice change grin.
My Mom, my Grandfather C, and my Great Grand Uncle J. M. Barrie are among
the mentors in my life.
My Mom and Grandfather were very good knitters and crocheters. I think that
I sub consciously learned these crafts from them, at that time, I was a
small boy, and was more interested in sports and trucks and cars than in
crafting lol. I watched what they did, and probably tucked it away in my
tiny brain not realizing that I'd love to do crafting after my sight loss.
My Uncle James was a playwright and author, and I got my love of writing
from him. I consider writing to be a craft of sorts. I learned to write
after reading Uncle James's many books and plays.

These people can be parents, relatives, teachers, friends or crafting gurus.
