Ramona that sounds like a wonderful educational experience for everyone
involved.

The skirts sound cute.

Nella, I have taught quite a few sewing classes. The most fun one was
teaching second grade Bluebirds to make skirts. Their parents thought it
could not be done. We simply took a piece of pollyester knit and cut it 3
inches longer than the skirt needed to be for each child. One seam up the
back. Turn down the top and run elastic through. Take red rickrack to sew
hem at bottom. Kids had to guide the fabric through the machine. Very
quick. Very cute skirts. I was going to use two rows of rickrack, but they
loved the skirts with one wide piece of rickrack. I think there was one mom
who would not let her daughter use the machine and did it for her. Others
used mine because they did not have one at home. But most families
cooperated.
The kids learned about sewing, and their moms learned about blind teachers.

Ramona.

Hello everyone and sorry about being a day late. My Wednesday just did not
come together well and I forgot all about posting this.

So last week we talked about the different crafting mentors in our lives.
This week I would like to discuss how we mentor others.

Have you ever taught a crafting class for children or adults?

If so where, what craft and how did it go?

Have you ever provided craft instruction for friends or family members?

If so, who and what craft?

I know many of you teach for Krafter's Korner and help other members, so I'm
more interested in how you mentor or instruct other individuals or groups.

I can't wait to read all about everyone's experiences.

Nella
