[Nfb-krafters-korner] couldn't help myself!

So, picture this. Yesterday my son-in-law and I went to the festival, and I
always go through the crafts and then on my way back pick up the things I
decided on buying. Jim had a very large l shaped box on his shoulders, he
had his service dog on a body leash, I was walking beside him hanging onto
his shirt because his arms were occupied. We stopped at the last place just
to get their business card because I decided I spent enough money already.
We asked for the card, I stepped forward with my hand out for the card and
the woman said, "I'll put it in his front pocket. I said, "why, my hand is
right here?" She said well you're blind and your hand ..." I said I
certainly could take the card and it had nothing to do with being blind. I
was so aggravated, that the only thing I am going to do with her card is
write something on her web site about what an incentive oaf she is. I also
announced that there of lots of other places to buy lighthouse stuff.

We were quite a sight. We had to walk about four blocks back to the car,
and I bought breakable stuff like maple bbq sauce, maple marinade, pizza
sauce, and spaghetti sauce. I made one little stumble, but thankfully
nothing broke. All in all it was lots of fun.

Bernice,
Hello! I love nautical things too. I live in Nebraska and to my surprise,
I found all kinds of light houses, ships, etc. That was so funny to me.
You should see my bedroom. I have 2 dozen lighthouses in it. Lol! Looks
like I live on the coast. Hahaha!

Hi fellow krafters,

My son-in-law and I were looking online yesterday for knitting looms. We
found a Martha Stewart box of pieces you could put together in many shapes
to weave and knit on. We saw it online for $40 and at Wal-Mart for $25. So
I bought it at Wal-Mart. Also, there is a peg board with two types of pegs.
It is for weaving and other projects.. Again, it was much less expensive at
Wal-mart.

Many years ago, I had a wooden rectangular frame with rather tall wooden
pegs on all four sides. You strung it in such a way that when you went all
the way around it made square holes. You kept going around until you had
the desired thickness. Then you tied each intersection of all of the
squares. Finally you cut the ends between the pegs. All of that gave you
a thick hot pad for your table or a thinner one could be a placemat. One of
the pegs broke and I used two nails side by side for the peg. Then it
started falling apart. I have never been able to find that loom again. I
am going to ask my handyman to make me one, because I am tired of looking
for it.

Also, we found a three round loom set and a four round loom set. The box
said you could either weave or knit on them. I think I'll go back and get
one set. Then I'll need to find someone to teach me how to knit on it.

Can you tell? I'm itching to get back to doing crafts. I am having trouble
waiting for my hand to get better. Although, I'm not having any trouble
typing.

I also couldn't stand it any more yesterday, I had to pack a few boxes for
moving. As many of you know, I am a lighthouse and nautical theme
collector. Our grocery store had a huge display of that stuff. I bought
pillows for my outdoor chairs, and many other things. I figured it was kind
of stupid to try to find a place to put them away since I am moving. So, I
got a very large box and packed it all plus other kitchen stuff. While I
was at it I did another box of kitchen glass items. My son-in-law was here
to get the things from the top shelves, so I took advantage of it and got
those things packed also.

I am off to our lilac festival today to see others arts and crafts.

Bernice and the sweet Octane.
