[Nfb-krafters-korner] insensitive comments

Yeah had those.  Some years back, my husband Joe and I were at a day programme for people with disabilities.  I had just been playing bingo with 2 braille cards, when morning tea was served. This woman from another town looked at Joe, pointed to my teaspoon and asked “Does she know what that’s for?” Well I picked up the teaspoon, waved it in the air, and asked “what’s this for?” Most of the staff that knew me fell over laughing.
