[Nfb-krafters-korner] How are the baby sweaters coming?

Deb;
You will have no trouble with the buttons. Joyce had us put a button hole on each side of the sweater, so where that button hole is on the side of your choice, will be where you will put your button.
Joyce will have to teach us how to put on the button and cover up that hole!

Hi Cathy F.

I'm so happy you've had such good luck with the sweater. It is a delightful little thing.

Well, I have had the dropsies all weekend. I had originally started mine over once as I didn't like the way it looked the first time. (I had been knitting in a hurry) So after that, I was singing along just fine until I managed to drop a bunch of stitches. Well, this yarn isn't friendly for picking up stitches and as I only had about 20 rows, I just decided to restart it. Well, I went along for a while--got back up to row 28 _again and then messed it up on row 28--totally my own fault; I wasn't paying attention. So I started it over again. (I don't use a lifeline) Anyway, _that time I was zinging along and just dropped the whole thing and managed to unravel quite a few stitches. <g< So _last night, as I sat and looked at the empty needles again, I decided that I was going to do it or bust--as it's a cute little thing--so I started over again. Now I'm back to row 28.
<g<

I've knitted since I was 9 but have never gotten sweaters and socks to be the way I want them to be, so I'm happy to take this class. My bugaboo is going to be the buttons. I haven't done a button for years and am not sure I remember how. And I've never successfully lined up the buttons with the button holes.But I'm confident someone will get me through. <g<

Hi all,

I already have told Joyce about how well I am coming along with knitting the baby sweater. But I'd like the rest of you to know how exciting it is for me to take this class. when I arrived in krafters korner 8 years ago I barely knew how to cast on and make the knit stitch. but since then I have taken many knitting classes until I finally felt confident enough to make a piece of clothing. So I asked if anyone would be willing to teach a vest and/or a sweater. One of our members offered to teach the vest and another the sweater. I took both of these classes. they were both telephone conference call classes. this was very nice because all in the class worked together on the pattern and the instructors were there to immediately answer any questions. Other students in the class also provided helpful tips as we worked. It was like we were all in some one's living room chatting and knitting together.

I am so thrilled to report that I have the body of the sweater almost done and next week I will learn how to make the sleeves.

So if you are wishing to learn something, just post it to the list and hopefully one of us will be available to teach you and others what you'd like to learn.

Have a great day!!
Cathy F
