Hi Dixie and all,

Well, there is also great lakes glass. I live near Lake 
Erie, one of the great lakes and I have personally found glass washed
ashore. There are a variety of beaches along the lake and the glass washes
up just as it does from the ocean. I found a piece of green glass one time.
I just lucked out. I happened to just put my hand it the right place and I
felt what I first thought was a smooth stone. But it was actually glass.
There were a number of shipwrecks in the great lakes along with boaters and
their beer bottles, so lots of glass in the lakes.

What a pretty sounding lamp your Grandma made Dixie. I wish I could have
seen that.
