Jody, The number of people impacted is astounding. We have several shelters
here. The arena where my high school graduation ceremony was held has even
been turned into a safe place for evacuees. 

Thank God help is here for rescue and recovery. We have our military with
their equipment and expertise, and the Red Cross volunteers from all over
the country with experience in disaster relief. So many individuals,
organizations, Salvation Army ... all amazing.  

There are people here who went through Katrina, and now, just 12 years
later, Harvey. 

My grandparents lost their home and everything in flooding from a hurricane
in the 70s. You probably remember Agnes that hit the northeast. I know from
their story and similar ones from friends with Andrew, it is possible to
rebuild, but life is never quite the same.
