Was never in Girl Scouts & spent most summers at Boy Scout camp where they lit fires without matches or lighters. It wasn't a joke.  Don't use gas & Fire. Too dangerous. Will just wait until the weather is warm enough to melt the chocolate outside. Didn't think about using my grill.

I have read the Terri Blackstock series you mentioned. Read it three times.

I know this is a sweet joke on your part to give us all here a giggle.
Apparantly you have neve been a Girl Scout not camped with an open fire.
Every made a smore? That calls for melted chocolate, where? Over an open
fire. Please read Terry Blackstock book about when God takes all power and
how all cooking was done. After reading many of this questions I will below
give you and everyone interested how you can melt chocolate and cook with
out electric, which I hope we will always have.
1.Gather sticks and paper and dry elements and make an area to start a fire
using, lighter and matches. Add wood. Place container with what you want to
cook and heatt or melt.
2.On a hot day place food in container and place in sun, heat an egg.
3.Use a BBQ and propane gass and heat your containiner.
4.Solar power in a window that melts things also.
5.When all else fails, hold it in the hand and it will melt.

Sorry electric is not for everything and I still have relatives living in
Penn. That do not use electric At All, they are still Amish. Hope this
helps.

I haven't made mine yet because I am still waiting on an answer to my
question. I want my first batch to be authentic Amish chocolate covered
peanut butter eggs.

I made my eggs up last night and decided to freeze them I will be dipping
them in my melted chocolate in a short while thought the kids could help me
with that! And like a good baker or candymaker I had to sample the project
last night it was so delicious!
