Hi, I have had a Martha Stewart knitting and weaving loom I bought from
somebody who hardly used it, and when she did, she had a knitting project on
it, but I am very hesitant to finish unpacking it and make anything or try
to because I have not found any sighted help.  I don't want to lose pieces
or anything and I really want to weave with this loom and not knit since I
have other knitting looms to knit with.  Can anybody give me any advice at
all about using this loom and setting it up and such as that?  Any help with
this would be most greatly appreciated and thanks in advance and have a
blessed day.

You tube is my primary resource for knitting, looming and crocheting.  If
the instructions are not verble, my  daughter will explain them to me.  I
have purchased braille patterns from various vendors.  
I have a friend with my taste to help me shop for sewing patterns.  Someone
trims and marks the patterns for me; I cut and sew from there.  I like
copying garments also.

Happy Wednesday to all you crafters out there.

 

Once again it is Wednesday and it is a beautiful one here in northwest
Arkansas.

 

On Monday Cathy lead a chat on how to use the ravelry website, which many of
us found to be very helpful.  This chat got me thinking about how we blind
crafters access patterns for different crafts.  I have a couple of Brail
books that I got from Horizons for the blind with loom knit patterns and a
few patterns that other blind people have shared with me.  I have a few
basic skirt and dress patterns that other people helped me choose and cut
out.  I would like to make more clothes, but finding patterns is very
difficult.

 

So, I want to know how do the rest of you find patterns or instructions for
different crafts.

 

This information can be for any type of craft; please share your strategies
with us.
