Our Church knitting group also makes Pocket prayer Cloths that are put into
a basket at the vestable for those who need comforting to take.
and, let's not forget about the Native Americans who always seem to be the
"Forgotten Ones" in society.
A couple of us here donate to the reservations out West.

This would be a great project for all those bits & bobs of yarn we all have
left over from all those projects.

We’ve been talking about doing something for charity, & now here’s our
chance!

Hi Krafters,
I was reading through an article and came across an opportunity I want to
share with you. Do you have yarn that needs a project? Keep reading!
Start with a simple project a 7" x 9" rectangleAnd this little rectangle can
have a big impact.

What good is a crocheted rectangle?
The Warm Up America! Foundation collects donations of crocheted and knitted
rectangles from people like you nationwide. Then volunteers sew the colorful
rectangles into blankets and afghans that are given to people in homeless
shelters, teen pregnancy homes, battered women's shelters, nursing homes,
hospitals, hospices, and clinics, and to national nonprofit agencies such as
the American Red Cross. If you prefer, you can even sew the rectangles
together and donate the blanket in your own community!

Make a simple 7 inch by 9 inch rectangle and weave in the ends.
Send them to the following address:
Warm Up America
469 Hospital Drive,
Suite E
Gastonia, NC 28054

If you decide to participate, would you let us know and donate it
acknowledging NFB Krafters Division?

This would be a great way to let people know that blind people can do crafts
and give back to our community!

What are your thoughts?

Smile!
Tammy
