[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Tactile markings for mugs?

I have this plastic that could go around the handle of your cup and it snaps
tight in place. I haven't run it through a dishwasher though. Zip tie is
another idea. Maybe the little metal bead things that are like three four
inches long clipped to the handle of the cup. Maybe on that metal beaded
thing you could slide on beads dishwasher safe, so it looks prettier. A tiny
spring like a baby bracelet. A tight-fitting beaded bracelet that goes
inside the handle and around the cup. There are so many tactile cups. Why
reinvent the wheel when your answer is a tactile dog face or pig or candy
cane or sailboat, whatever you enjoy. I have one here with a harness and
handle that is tactile from the Seeing Eye, grin. How about a tactile Miss
Wasit. Bet no one in that church has a Miss wasit from the NFB, grin.

Just some other ideas.

Did you try plastic dyno tape. It might stick better if you place it on the
side of the mug near the bottom.

Hi,

Our church has this thing where everyone has a mug for coffee assigned to
them. Getting "mugged," is a way of extending a warm welcome to people
involved in Bible studies and fellowship.

Our names have been placed on the mugs in permanent marker, which, of
course, does not help us identify our own mugs.

There are several that lookand feel exactly alike, and the engravings are
not tactile enough for distinctions.

I actually took the mugs home, in hopes of being able to affix permanent
glue dots. The strongest glue we have is not lasting through an
experimental wash, and the traditional waterproof glue, such as Goop, is
rubbery intexture and comes off easily.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to best mark the bottomof our mugs that
will not come off in a washing.

I was, at first hoping to use a notch file to make a mark on the bottom
edge, but didn't work either.

I have not mastered super glue, since it is so runny.

The only thing I can think of is bringing our own mugs that are different
from those at church.

Plus, I would like to hear about others' experiences using the crazy glues
or super glues, looking for good nonvisual techniques. I am successful with
thicker glues, such as wood glue, elmers, Goop, etc., but could always learn
more for sure.

Thanks for any ideas!

Judy
