Good Morning Becky, I have seen those tiny beaded chains that you are
talking about, I had one that had a rabbits foot attached to it that I hung
on my belt loop.
My current fav mug is my dog saying one ( Happiness is a tail wag, etc ) I
like the idea of a dogs paw or dog bone. When I get a mug with a car or
horse on it, I'll decorate it with a horse or car charm.
O k, I'm outa here for another cup of coffee, Woof woof!

What about using some 18 gauge stainless steel wire to hang the charm from
your handle of the cup you could use the file to file the ends of the wire
so that it didn’t scratch you

I've seen those, and I think that is along the lines of what Becky is
talking about. Thanks much for the idea that didn't occur to me. Appreciate
it. Judy -----Original Message----- From: NFB-Krafters-Korner

[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Tactile markings for mugs? There are "charms" that are
used to identify/decorate wine glasses. I do not know how they attach to the
stem of the glass, but maybe putting one on the handle of your mug.

plastic that could go around the handle of your cup and it snapstight in
place. I haven't run it through a dishwasher though. Zip tie is another
idea. Maybe the little metal bead things that are like three four inches
long clipped to the handle of the cup. Maybe on that metal beaded thing you
could slide on beads dishwasher safe, so it looks prettier. A tiny spring
like a baby bracelet. A tight-fitting beaded bracelet that goes inside the
handle and around the cup. There are so many tactile cups. Why reinvent the
wheel when your answer is a tactile dog face or pig or candy cane or
sailboat, whatever you enjoy. I have one here with a harness and handle that
is tactile from the Seeing Eye, grin. How about a tactile Miss Wasit. Bet no
one in that church has a Miss wasit from the NFB, grin. Just some other
ideas. Becky -----Original Message----- From: NFB-Krafters-Korner On Behalf

[NFB-Krafters-Korner]Tactile markings for mugs? Did you try plastic dyno
tape. It might stick better if you place it on the side of the mug near the
bottom. Ramona -----Original Message----- From: NFB-Krafters-Korner

Tactile markings for mugs? Hi, Our church has this thing where everyone has
a mug for coffee assigned to them. Getting "mugged," is a way of extending a
warm welcome to people involved in Bible studies and fellowship. Our names
have been placed on the mugs in permanent marker, which, of course, does not
help us identify our own mugs. There are several that lookand feel exactly
alike, and the engravings are not tactile enough for distinctions. I
actually took the mugs home, in hopes of being able to affix permanent glue
dots. The strongest glue we have is not lasting through an experimental
wash, and the traditional waterproof glue, such as Goop, is rubbery
intexture and comes off easily. Does anyone have any ideas on how to best
mark the bottomof our mugs that will not come off in a washing. I was, at
first hoping to use a notch file to make a mark on the bottom edge, but
didn't work either. I have not mastered super glue, since it is so runny.
The only thing I can think of is bringing our own mugs that are different
from those at church. Plus, I would like to hear about others' experiences
using the crazy glues or super glues, looking for good nonvisual techniques.
I am successful with thicker glues, such as wood glue, elmers, Goop, etc.,
but could always learn more for sure. Thanks for any ideas! Judy
