[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Want To Know Wednesday 8/29/18

We have been eating icecream out of those dixie cups. I like how they have the curvy edge, in and out. I would put little pebbles in the bottom for drainage, plant the mini plant or sead and decorate it with fabric or something new, crate paper!
I could add bows out of curling ribbon and the name of the plant and who it is to go to!

I wondered what those cups could be used for, besides going into the recycle!

Hi nella, as for herbs, all kinds.
Containers, cut down soda bottles wrapped in left over yarns of different weights and textures.

Well, of course I would use gourds. I would put plastic containers that fit inside reasonably well. I will dip some gourds in paint, decorate some with the cone attachment on the dremel, and try oil on one to see how it works.
If I get those three things mastered, I will try some more things.

Plants? Well people may have to choose their own. My sister likes to give amarillus, and poiansettias are nice for Christmas. I have never grown herbs, so would need advice.

Happy Wednesday to all you crafters out there.

Do we have you in the Christmas spirit yet?

This is our last Christmas in August question. There has been a lot of talk about gardening on the list and Monday night chat was about Christmas on a budget. One year when I had very little money I grew some herb plants and gave them as gifts. I used some containers I already had for pots and found some at a thrift store. Everyone seemed to like their little herb plants

I also like to use herb plants for hostess and house warming gifts.

So here is my challenge to you.

You are only allowed to purchase plants as gifts. If you're feeling ambitious, you're also welcome to grow them.

Now I want you to go through your home and find containers that you can use as pots and you can be as creative as you like.

Once you have selected your containers you are encouraged to use any of your crafting supplies to decorate them. You can make them as elaborate or as simple as you please.

What plants did you choose, what containers will you use and how will you decorate them.

I'm hoping to get some good gift ideas.

Nella
