[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Invisible cast-on

I don't understand what happens with the loops on two needles. After you
make your figure 8 as many times as you want to add stitches, then what
happens?

Thanks,
Bernice

Tracy, if you are making a sweater, do you pick up stitches around the
armhole and knit the sleeve from the top down? I have thought about that,
but have thought it better to knit sleeves separately, so I'm not working on
such a large item.

Hi Annette.
It depends what I'm doing. If I'm starting a sock toe-up, I work in the
round on both sides of the cast-on.
If I'm making a top, and the invisible cast-on is a seamless shoulder
"seam", I put one set of loops on a holder, work the other set for a down
to where I'll want to join the back and front, then put that on a holder,
go back and work the other side down to the join point, join and pick up
the stitches off the holder, and start working in the round.
As you may have guessed, I prefer to work in the round and be as seamless
as possible. I haven't sewed a seam in an age, at least not in my
knitting.
