Bernice;
Do you mean 10.5 needles?

Terry

Subject: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] Fisherman knit afghan class

Good morning,

I am presenting a phone class with instruction to knit a fisherman's knit
afghan. I will be teaching a number of pattern stitches.

The trinity stitch is made by pearling on one row and pearling 3 stitches
together on the next. A similar stitch is also used, a bobble stitch.

There 3 twist stitches and make kind of a braid feeling pattern.

Also, there are a few cables.

My plan is to have students make a swatch learning these stitches for
practice. After you feel comfortable with them, we will begin the afghan.

When I made this afghan I made 48 squares, but my Mom was available to
crochet them all together. Now, we will make strips, requiring less sewing.
You could make a lapghan, throw, single or bigger afghan. If you don't mind
working with a large piece, you could knit it in one piece. I've added some
edging to make it look good for larger components.

I have scheduled 4 class times, and will be glad to make myself available
for questions. Please don't be scared off by the complexity of the pattern.
My belief and practice in my life has been, that almost any task, no matter
how complex or big, can be broken down into smaller parts to be successful.
I once single handedly moved an entire bedroom set, long dresser with a
hutch top, tall shiffer robe, night stand, large headboard, and water bed
from an upstairs bedroom to a downstairs bed room. I'm not an extra strong
person. I just broke down the task into small steps and took advantage of
gravity.

I look forward to working together to knit this fun and interesting afghan.

Bernice and the adorable LoLo.
