I got lucky at Wal-Mart and a couple of the ladies that help me are actually
knitters or crocheters.

Hi Nella, I think that there is a Hobby Lobby up North of here, but, the
cabs would cost a large fortune to get us there, and the paratransit doesn't
go up that far. I suppose that we could order on line if we know what the
yarn feels like.
the help at Walmart ( if you can call it that at all ) doesn't speak English
very well, or can't figure out or find what you want. We actually get better
help from the customers on the floor.

Nella,
I like listening to everyone's favorite store and I agree with most of them.
However, when time is short and you have help Wal-Mart still is there as
long as it is a Super one with crafts.

Terry, like you I want to touch my yarn before buying.  So far I've
purchased all my craft supplies at Hobby Lobby, Joann's and Wal-Mart.

Hobby Lobby has the best customer service; they are very helpful.  I don't
find the customer service at Joann's to be quite as good.  I always feel
like the people at Hobby Lobby are excited to help and the People at Joann's
do it because they know they should.  Wal-Mart also has very good customer
service.

There is a small local yarn shop that I like.  It is expensive, but the
quality and service are excellent.

I usually buy my yarn at Joanns or Walmart.  I like to see and feal my yarn,
before buying.
Some day I will get comfortable with on line shopping.
I do go to Michaels for a few things.  I am shocked that they have dropped
Woolies and Woolies chuncky.  They do, now, have Bernet chuncky.
I get my plastic canvas shapes and cord from them.

Hello to all of you crafters out there.  I'm still trying to get used to
writing 2018.

favorite place to purchase craft items and why you like this store.

I sure hope this discussion isn't going to cost me more money. Lol
