Oh! Wow! Rock and rol! Thank you Annette! This is a perfect follow to
Tunisian!
Is it Horizon for the blind that has the hooks with the stoppers? Do they
have a book or two?

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] Cro Hooking, A Cousin to Tunisian Crochet

Hi All,

As mentioned in my previous post, here is a description of Cro Hooking.

Like Tunisian, Cro Hooking is a combination of knitting and crocheting. It
takes to passes to complete one row. The first time you load the stitches
on to the needle, and when done, it looks like a knitting needle filled with
all of your stitches. The second pass is where you work all of the stitches
off of the needle until you have only 1 stitch left.

Those of you who know how to do Tunisian are saying, so what is the big
deal, this sounds just like Tunisian, and you are correct. The next step is
where it differs.

Cro Hooking is worked with 2 contrasting colors of yarn. When the work is
done, one color dominates one side of the fabric, and the other color
dominates the opposite side. The finished fabric is reversible, and looks
impressive with little effort. To achieve this, you switch colors to work
each row. Remember, working a single row requires 2 passes, so you would
use the same color of yarn to complete those 2 passes. In order to achieve
the visual effect, I described above, you work into the stitch post of the
previous row instead of into the actual stitch when loading your needle with
stitches.

HTH,

Annette
