Good Morning nella and everyone, all of our books for knitting, crocheting 
and loom knitting have been very useful.
I like the book the Touch of yarn by Davey Hulsey for refreshing my memory 
for different things.
Tracy, are those books that you mentioned available on Bard for download?

I'd say my 2 all-time most useful craft books are Knitting From the Top and
A Treasury of Knitting Patterns, both by Barbara Walker and available in
braille from NLS.
Knitting From the Top explains how to create your own knitting pattern using
basic templates, gauge, and measuring.  I've used it to create several
sweaters and tops.
A Treasury of Knitting Patterns, either Vol 1 or Vol 2, gives *lots* of
knitting patterns of all sorts.
Using these 2 books, I've selected a stitch pattern I think is interesting,
then created something beautiful using that pattern.  Hey, what do you know,
me, a designer!
