[Nfb-krafters-korner] Notice of Copyright Laws

As a Board Member and Chairperson of Membership I have become laxed in
sending out this information to Everyone. Please read this message and
remind yourself of these laws, we have a few new people on list and I should
have sent this announcement out prior, therefore, please read as it applies
to each of us on list. We all enjoy sharing and it is not directed to anyone
person but something we have to be reminded of from time to time. If you
have any questions please contact me as I will list my email below.

 

We have Federal Copyright Laws that must be adhered to by all persons
sharing information. This can be from recording, written materials and
digitally. When a copyright is placed on any material that is placed there
to protect the person or designer from having their materials shared and
used by others without their permission. If the material does not have that
copyright mark in the material the materials can be shared freely. If
materials are passed without the permission of the copyright holder, the
shared person of this material can and may be held for in violation of
copyright. Most material are copyrighted to protect the financial aspects of
the materials. This violation may result in fines and penalties to the
person who shares this information to others.

 

This is just a small description of problems we could get into by sharing
patterns across the list. I have been personally involved in a copyright
case and will be glad to share what happened privately if you would like to
send me a note. Not a nice outcome, lots of fines and problems. Therefore, I
can speak with experience. I know we all like to share here a Krafters but
this may get out of hand. I mistakenly shared a copyright pattern here by
accident and felt terrible. Please, please, if it is your pattern, or you
have changed or adopted it in some way, please share. I would ask anyone who
has a wonderful pattern to share to make certain it is a Free pattern to
share as Krafters is responsible for what your post. I hope you will all
take notice as you read patterns, books or materials how many things are
marked with this copyright and see if we are not taking serious the rights
of all.
